Transported back in time to the Italian countryside of yesteryear, Yves Geleyn takes us on the simple journey of a man and his machine. Meet Mr Cabrioni, his trusty bird and the machine he brings back to life. Based on the real origin story of the company, we follow Mr. Cabrioni on his quest and birth of his iconic cookies. Utilizing a mixture of both 2D and 3D techniques, this simple film symbolizes Cabrioni’s love of good ingredients and traditional recipes combined with modern tools.
As this film centers on the relationship between the characters, Geleyn enlisted illustrious character designer Peter de Sève known for his emotive feature film work and New Yorker contributions, to design the inquisitive stars of the film. With engaging characters and gorgeously painted backgrounds, Yves Geleyn uses technique and masterful storytelling to weave a film that brings the craft of Cabrioni into today.
