Enjoy a 6min Making of Minority Report with Matthew Merkovich, explaining his work on 3D Tracking. The shot showing the 3D camera track solved in SynthEyes was re-tracked for this little side project. Because of the great Matrox hard drive crash of 2007, all my Minority Report work files were lost . The shots were originally tracked using a plugin for 3DS Max called “Scene Genie” which ceased publication just a couple years after Minority Report was released. Fortunately, its author, Russ Andersson rewrote a whole new 3D tracking application from the ground up, called SynthEyes, which is what you see in this video.
